What does Gokou taste like?
Our single cultivar Gokou is prized for its high umami and natural sweetness. Deep, savory layers unfold with notes of walnut and a smooth, velvety almond finish that lingers on the palate.
Is it better for lattes or for drinking straight?
Both. Whisk it with water as usucha, or whisk it with a splash of warm water and pour over milk for a latte.
How do I make it?
Usucha: sift 2–4g into a bowl, add about 60–70ml of 75–80°C (167–176°F) water and whisk in a fast “M” motion until frothy.
Latte: whisk 2–4g with a splash of warm water until smooth, then pour over milk (hot or iced). Sweeten to taste.
How many cups are in a 35g tin?
About 9–17 cups, depending on whether you use 2g or 4g per cup.

Yame, Fukuoka, Japan. It is a single cultivar (Gokou only, no blending) and stone ground.
Is it lab tested?

How should I store it?
Keep the tin sealed, cool and away from light and humidity. Once opened, refrigerate promptly, close the lid tightly and use within 90 days.

Subscriptions
For subscription orders, refunds are available only for damaged or defective items. If you receive a damaged or defective product in your subscription, please email us at support@chazoku.com within 30 days of receipt, including a description and photo of the issue.
